THE PROPHECY: Tour Blog Of Doom

August 27, 2007

Yorkshire doom-death metallers THE PROPHECY have issued the following update:

"THE PROPHECY and HONEY FOR CHRIST finally made it to Belgium to play their shows in Arlon and Virton-Ethe without further incident. The bands then set off to the Portuguese Festival at Vargos.

"The bands made it to Salamanca after 27 hours of solid driving through France and Spain. However on the trip to Vargos the tourbus's Cam belt broke on the motorway. The organisers of the festival came to the rescue coming to pick up the bands and the equipment from Fundao approximately two hours from Vargos. However, the next day the bands learned that the engine of the bus had been damaged beyond repair leaving them with no transport for them or their gear and no timescale on repairs with at least a 5,000 euro bill which will mean the vehicle will have to be written off with no way to claim on the insurance.

"The bands are now currently stuck in Portugal as guests of Nemesis Musica and Vargos Council with the band living in an old-school until flights can be arranged to get the bands back to the U.K. However with the availability of flights being poor at the moment due to peak holiday times they have not been given a schedule for their return.

"THE PROPHECY will return to Portugal in a new van to repatriate the equipment when they finally return to the U.K. which will be a costly exercise but necessary, with four days of solid driving ahead of them."

THE PROPHECY has set "Into the Light" as the title of its third opus, tentatively due next year.
